Andy Halliday close to Rangers exit ahead of talks with FC Gabala in Azerbaijan
Rangers midfielder Andy Halliday is travelling for talks with Azerbaijani side FC Gabala ahead of a potential season-long loan.
Halliday does not appear to be in Pedro Caixinha’s future plans, after he was left out of the club’s Europa League squad ahead of their first qualifying round 1st leg against Progres Niederkorn on Thursday.
The 25-year-old Glaswegian rejoined Rangers in 2015 from Bradford, having spent three years of his academy career with the Gers.
Having been released from the club at 15, Halliday came through at Livingston before signing for Middlesbrough in 2010.
Several loan spells with Walsall, Blackpool and Bradford followed, before he permanently signed for the Bantams in January 2015.
That summer saw him sign for boyhood club Rangers but he now appears to be on his way out at Ibrox.
Halliday has made 91 appearances for Rangers and was part of their Scottish Championship and Scottish Challenge Cup successes in 2015/16.Soccer Accumulator Bonus
