Aaron Wan-Bissaka committed to Crystal Palace despite transfer speculation
Aaron Wan-Bissaka says he is flattered with speculation linking him with other clubs but insists he is staying at Crystal Palace.
The right-back has been praised for a string of impressive performances for Palace this season, with Bayern Munich understood to be among those interested in signing the England U21 international.
Manchester United have also been linked with a move for him but Croydon-born Wan-Bissaka – who was named Eagles’ Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season at their annual awards ceremony – says he is happy at Selhurst Park after signing a contract until June 2022 this time last year.
„The situation just shows that my performances don’t go unnoticed,“ Wan-Bissaka told Evening Standard Sport.
„But I am with Crystal Palace at the moment. That is where my contract is and that is where I will be next season.
„I have got three years left on my contract. It says I am going to be there, so that is all I can focus on now.“
Hodgson expects Wan-Bissaka stay
Palace play relegation-threatened Cardiff away on Saturday before taking on Bournemouth at home in the final game of the season on May 12.
Ahead of the game Hodsgon acknowledged interest in Wan-Bissaka is to be expected.
„It’s a fact of life,“ he said. „When you have players who do well, they’re always going to be coveted by other clubs.
„We understand football works that way but the whole point for us is he signed a long-term contract with us and we signed him to be a long-term player with us.
„He’s doing well here, he knows he’s well appreciated here. I have no reason to fear he won’t be continuing here.“
