Arsene Wenger makes comeback in charity football match for Aldo Platini
Arsene Wenger made a return to football in a charity fundraiser in memory of Michel Platini’s father, Aldo.
The match marked the opening of a new stadium honouring the former AS Nancy director, who died last year, as well as raising money for children’s charities.
Father of former UEFA president Michel, Platini gave Wenger his first chance in management with the French side back in 1984.
The 68-year-old is yet to return to management after leaving the Gunners at the end of last season following a 22-year stint in north London.
During his time in north London, he claimed three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups and also reached the Champions League final in 2006.
The Frenchman has been linked with a host of jobs but speaking after the game, Wenger admitted he is yet to make a decision on his future.
„To be honest, for the moment, I have not really thought about that because I fixed myself something whereby in the first few months I would not take any decisions,“ he told local outlet L’Est Republicain.
„So I have not been too worried with that. It is not even going through my head.
„I am not retired. If I was, I would have been for a long time. I will be 69 in October.“
