Crystal Palace have signed Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah, with the 25-year-old opting to continue his career at Selhurst Park despite interest from Nottingham Forest. Nketiah has signed a five-year deal with the Eagles, who will pay Arsenal £25m for the transfer, which could rise to £30m with bonuses included.
After the transfer was made official, Nketiah expressed his delight at the move to Crystal Palace and shared that he was happy to be back in South London. He noted that
whenever he returns to this area, he feels a special connection and it’s nice to be home again.
Crystal Palace president Steve Parish also expressed his delight at the new signing, stressing that Nketiah is not only an England international, but a player with huge energy, talent and ambition who will surely be appreciated by his new team-mates alike , as well as from the team’s fans.
Nketiah will wear the number 9 shirt at his new team, becoming the fifth player to join Crystal Palace this summer. The striker scored 5 goals in the Premier League last season and is now expected to continue his development in his new surroundings, contributing to the success of the Eagles.
