CSKA-Sofia successfully attracted the Luxembourg international Mika Pinto
CSKA-Sofia successfully attracted the Luxembourg international Mika Pinto, who joins the team as a free agent after the expiration of his contract with the Dutch Vitesse. Pinto, 31, signed with the Bulgarian club after failing to reach an agreement to extend his contract with Vitesse.
Pinto’s football career began at the youth schools of Metz and Sporting Lisbon, where he developed his skills and gained valuable experience. Pinto then played for various clubs including Recreativo Huelva in Spain, Belenenses in Portugal as well as Fortuna Sittard and Sparta Rotterdam in the Netherlands before moving to Vitesse. With that experience behind him, Pinto is expected to bring stability and experience to CSKA’s defense.
An interesting point in Pinto’s career is that he continues to be an important figure in the Luxembourg national team, for which he has 32 appearances and 1 goal. Due to upcoming national team commitments, Pinto will join Luxembourg’s squad for the upcoming Nations League matches, where his side are in the same group as Bulgaria. That means he could soon face the Lions in the C-League Group K decider. In the upcoming international break at the start of September, Luxembourg will visit Northern Ireland and host Belarus, with Pinto in both games likely to play a key role.
With this transfer, CSKA – Sofia gets an experienced defender who can contribute significantly to the team’s ambitions both locally and internationally.
