European Paper Talk: Everton bid £40m for Raul Jimenez

Everton have made a bid for Benfica forward Raul Jimenez, believed to be around €45m (£39.6m), but the Portuguese club will only accept a fee of €50m (£44m). (Record)
Crystal Palace have approached Sporting Lisbon to make an enquiry about how much midfielder William Carvalho would cost. They were told €30m (£26.3m), but are yet to make a formal offer. He is also a West Bromwich Albion and Manchester City transfer target. (Record)

Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen is an Inter Milan transfer target. The 21-year-old impressed their scouts during his two-season loan at Borussia Monchengladbach. (Corriere dello Sport)

Alexandre Lacazette will join Arsenal today for a fee that will come close to €60m (£52.7m), including bonuses. (L’Equipe)
Rennes have contracted Chelsea about a move for Loic Remy, who spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace. (L’Equipe)
Real Sociedad left-back Yuri Berchiche, once of Cheltenham Town, is close to a move to Paris Saint-Germain for a fee of around €15m (£13.1m). (Le Parisien)
Spain
Dani Ceballos will make up his mind in the next two weeks whether to move to Real Madrid or Barcelona. The Real Betis midfielder, who impressed in the European Under-21 Championship, would like a move to the Spanish capital, but only if he isn’t loaned out and James Rodriguez and Alvaro Morata leave, which would free up space in the squad for his arrival. Real Madrid transfer target Kylian Mbappe’s move to the Bernabeu is at risk of falling through because he isn’t convinced he’ll be given a starting spot for Los Blancos. (AS)
Paris Saint-Germain are not listening to Barcelona transfer target Marco Verratti’s requests to leave the club. The Italian midfielder hasn’t given up on a move, but the French club’s president Nasser Al Khelaifi has no intention of letting him go. (Sport)
Lyon could replace Arsenal-bound striker Alexandre Lacazette with Barcelona’s Munir El-Haddadi, who spent last year on loan at Valencia. Marseille and Zenit St Petersburg are also interested in the 21-year-old. (Sport)
Turkey
Juventus have won the race to sign Cengiz Under, who was also a Chelsea and Manchester United transfer target. The 19-year-old scored seven goals for Istanbul Basaksehir as they finished runners-up in the Turkish top flight. (Fotomac)
