Falkirk fined £60,000 for appointing Ray McKinnon
Falkirk FC have been fined £60,000 relating to the appointment of their manager Ray McKinnon and his assistant Darren Taylor.
An SPFL disciplinary tribunal found the club „induced“ McKinnon and Taylor to leave their previous jobs at Greenock Morton in August 2018, a mere three months after they had joined.
Falkirk must pay £40,000 immediately with the other £20,000 suspended for two years.
The ruling read: „It is not so substantial so as to be ruinous to a club of Falkirk standing and it is not so minimal so as to be meaningless to them either.“
Falkirk have the right of appeal to a Scottish FA Appellate Tribunal in accordance with the SPFL Rules and the Scottish FA Judicial Panel Protocol.
McKinnon’s side are currently bottom of the Scottish Championship table on 18 points, one point behind Partick Thistle.
