Garcia and Freh head into the final in Guadalajara
Lucia Bronzetti will try to break Rebecca Sramkova in the semifinals of the tournament in Monastir.
On Saturday, September 14, new exciting matches await at the women’s hard court tournaments in Guadalajara (WTA 500) and Monastir (WTA 250). In Tunisia, the Italian Bronzetti will face Slovakian Sramkova in a fight for a place in the final, with the match scheduled for 18:00 Bulgarian time.
In Guadalajara, around 10:00 p.m., France’s Caroline Garcia will face Poland’s Magdalena Freh in another semi-final.
The matches will be broadcast on the bet365 platform.
Bronzetti, who has shown solid results in 2023, will meet her third opponent outside the top 100 at the tournament. She scored a convincing 6-2, 6-1 win over Antonia Ruzic, taking a perfect 6-0 record in sets so far in this tournament.
Rebecca Sramkova experienced a tough battle in the quarter-finals, defeating Sarah Soribes Tormo after three hours and 22 minutes on court. She reached her first semi-final in a WTA tournament, fighting for a place in the final.
In Guadalajara, Caroline Garcia will face Magdalena Freh after qualifying without a game following Marie Bouzkova’s injury withdrawal. Freh, for her part, overcame Marina Stakusic 6-4, 6-3 to book her place in the semi-finals. The two have met once before, when Freh won 2-0 at the Australian Open in January.
The other semifinal in Guadalajara pits Colombia’s Camila Osorio against Australia’s Olivia Gadecki.
