Hal Robson-Kanu signs new three-year contract with West Brom
Hal Robson-Kanu has agreed a new and improved contract with West Bromwich Albion which will keep him at the Hawthorns until 2020.
The 28-year-old striker has been rewarded for his efforts during his debut season at the club, which saw him score three goals in 29 appearances, penning a new three-year deal with the Baggies.
„I’m delighted because it’s an opportunity to build on the good work we did last season and now I’m just looking forward to the new one,“ said Robson-Kanu.
„It was an easy decision. I’ve enjoyed my time here playing under Tony Pulis. It was a strong season and I want to build on the good work and contribute to a more successful future.
„As soon as I arrived the fans took to me and that love grew over the course of the season.
„And the lads have been terrific – they are a fantastic bunch of players and you can see there is a real togetherness in the squad.“
Tony Pulis has been impressed with Robson-Kanu’s contribution so far for the club and added he was happy to see him rewarded.
„Hal’s a great lad, hard-working and an honest pro who fits in well with the group,“ said the head coach.
„I’m glad that we have been able to tie him down.“
Robson-Kanu will now set his sights on featuring more heavily for the Baggies next season.
With new signing Jay Rodriguez adding to Albion’s options, Robson-Kanu said: „It’s vital competition. We want to be as competitive as possible and everyone will be pushing each other over the course of the season.
