Olofinjana hails Liverpool target Traore. Former Wolves midfielder Seyi Olofinjana says it is no surprise that winger Adama Traore is reportedly the subject of transfer interest from clubs such as Liverpool.
Having hung up his boots in 2014. Olofinjana now works as the loan pathway manager at Molineux and has witnessed Traore’s development first hand.
The 24-year-old arrived at Wolves in 2018 and has put in some eye-catching performances this season. Scoring four goals and claiming seven assists in his 28 Premier League appearances.
A product of the Barcelona youth system, Traore had spells with Aston Villa and Middlesbrough before joining Wolves.
He scored both goals as Wolves won 2-0 away to Manchester City in the Premier League in October and has also impressed during the club’s run to the last 16 of the Europa League.
The speedy winger is under contract at Molineux until 2023 but his efforts this season have provoked interest from various clubs in England and around Europe.
Ex-Nigeria international Olofinjana says Traore’s excellent performances this year haven’t come as a surprise and also wouldn’t be too shocked if he were to leave Wolves in the not too distant future.
Olofinjana told Goal: „He is a good player and we’ve all seen what he is capable of doing.
„He’s been doing it for the past few seasons. So we are very much aware of what he brings to the table.
„We can’t ignore the fact that he has done very well for the club. Anybody can leave Wolves, he came from somewhere and he can leave any day.
„Regarding genuine transfer interest in our players. There are procedures and policies that we consider as a club, they tell us whether it is the right step for us or not.“
