Osimhen’s Spurs move rests on Kane. Victor Osimhen’s agent has suggested that the striker moving to Tottenham Hotspur could be dependent on the future of Harry Kane.
Striker Osimhen joined Lille from Belgian side Charleroi in 2019 and has become one of the most prolific strikers in Ligue 1, netting 18 goals in 38 appearances across all competitions this season.
The 21-year-old’s goals helped Lille to fourth spot in Ligue 1 this term and he has been linked with multiple Premier League clubs following a superb maiden season in France.
Tottenham are among those who have been linked with a move for the youngster. Who has made nine appearances and scored four goals for Nigeria. But the player’s agent Ariyo Igbayilola has warned there is one condition over a potential move.
With Harry Kane the club’s only recognised out-and-out striker – Lucas Moura and Heung-min Son have both been deployed through the centre on occasions. Osimhen’s agent is concerned his player would merely play second fiddle to England skipper Kane.
Speaking to the Nigerian newspaper ‘The Cable’. He said: „We told Mourinho that if he wants Victor. Will Harry Kane be leaving?
„If Kane is still playing for Tottenham will Victor play? Because he will always be benched for him.
„Kane is their number one striker and he is the captain of England. All of these will always work for him in the club but at Victor’s detriment. He needs a club where he will always play full game week in, week out. Not to be kept on the bench.“
