Pulev open to AJ rethink. Kubrat Pulev has suggested he could step aside to allow Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury to make their long-awaited unification potential super fight a reality.
Pulev is due to take on Joshua next and AJ’s promoter Eddie Hearn admitted earlier this week that negotiations for a heavyweight bout between his man and Fury „can’t take place“ for the time being.
Joshua holds three of the heavyweight belts and is contracted to take on IBF mandatory challenger Pulev.
The Bulgarian was talking a good game despite being a massive outsider, reckoning he will „beat him really good and get the knockout.“
Fury is set to face Deontay Wilder for a third time after taking the WBC heavyweight belt from the American with a brilliant performance in Las Vegas in February following a controversial draw in their opener.
Many boxing fans were disappointed when the Bronzed Bomber took his option of a trilogy fight as it meant even longer until it would be possible for Joshua to take on Fury in what would be arguably the biggest fight in British history.
However, Pulev has offered a glimmer of hope from his side of the deal and when asked whether he would accept a financial package to step aside he did not point blank refuse the option.
„I am ready for this fight against Joshua, so I don’t know,“ he said. „Nobody knows.“
