Saturday’s Man Utd transfer rumours
All the latest Man Utd transfer news and rumours from across the British and European press on Saturday, June 17.
The Daily Telegraph reports Manchester United have been quoted a £50m valuation of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier.
It is understood that manager Jose Mourinho wants to sign the versatile England international in time for the new season.
Cristiano Ronaldo has sensationally told Real Madrid he wants to leave and is said to favour a move back to United, according to reports in the Sun.
However, former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson could hold the key to any move.
Meanwhile, Leicester City will slap a £50m price tag on goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel to try and scare off United, says the Sun.
The Denmark international, 30, is currently contracted to the Foxes until the summer of 2021.
The paper also claims Real Sociedad have confirmed their interest in snapping up United outcast Adnan Januzaj.
The Belgian wide man, 22, spent last season out on loan at Sunderland, although his efforts were not enough to prevent the Wearsiders from being relegated from the Premier League.
The Sun also reports that Borussia Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele has fuelled United transfer rumours by liking a tweet that confirmed Victor Lindelof’s transfer to United.
The France international forward, 20, is contracted to the Bundesliga club until the summer of 2021.
Elsewhere, United legend Ryan Giggs is hoping to kick-start his managerial career with Southampton, says the Sun.
The Welshman took temporary charge of the Red Devils following David Moyes’ sacking by the club in 2014.
The Daily Mail reports that United are to sign £44m Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic within weeks.
The Croat is believed to be keen to move to Old Trafford this summer.
However, David De Gea has stepped up his house hunting efforts in Spain as he prepares to leave United, says the Daily Star.
The Spain goalkeeper is believed to be a target for European champions Real Madrid.
The Daily Express, though, claims that Mourinho values De Gea at a staggering £100m and is willing to cut a deal with Real if he can get striker Alvaro Morata in return.
The Red Devils manager is thought to be keen to sign a new forward for next season.
And the same paper reports that Ronaldo wants to re-sign for United, and De Gea could be used as a bargaining tool.
Finally, Stoke City’s chief executive has denied outright that the club is interested in signing United captain Wayne Rooney, says the Independent.
Rooney struggled to get into the club’s first team under Mourinho last season and may leave Old Trafford this summer.
