Valero issues Eriksen backing,Borja Valero believes his Inter Milan teammate Christian Eriksen needs time to show his best form at San Siro.
Eriksen, a January arrival from Tottenham, has struggled to force his way into Antonio Conte’s starting 11 with his role reserved as an impact player off the bench in Serie A.
Conte has a large pool of midfield players to choose from, including Italian pair Nicolo Barella and Stefano Sensi and classy Croatian Milan Brozovic, meaning Borja has also spent much of his time alongside Eriksen on the sidelines.
„He has everything to succeed at Inter, he only needs time.“ The Dane started both Europa League last-32 ties against Ludogorets in February and scored in the away leg, however, Eriksen has failed to sparkle as he continued his inconsistent form at the end of his Tottenham career after being dropped by the north London outfit after failing to agree terms on a new contract.
Despite his time in London petering out, his spell from 2013 to 2020 was considered a huge success despite Tottenham failing to win a trophy.
The former Ajax man played a key role as Spurs made it through to last season’s Champions League final, beating the Amsterdammers in a dramatic semi-final on the road to Madrid.
Having seen him produce such performances, Valero believes it is a matter of time until Eriksen delivers for Inter.
Speaking to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Borja said: „Eriksen arrived mid-season. He played for Tottenham the week before, and a week later he changed league, country, language, training. it’s not easy.
„He has everything to succeed at Inter, he only needs time.“
