Arsenal transfer news and rumours: Olivier Giroud, Hector Bellerin and Alexandre Lacazette
All the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours from across the British and foreign press on Wednesday, June 7.
Arsenal have confirmed Sead Kolasinac will join the club in the summer on a free transfer, their first capture of the transfer window.
The Gunners have announced he will sign a five-year contract and „subject to the completion of all regulatory processes, the defender will start pre-season training in July“.
But Arsene Wenger is also under orders to stop dithering in the transfer market and could move for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, Leicester winger Riyad Mahrez and Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar, according to the Daily Mirror.
The same newspaper also reports that Olivier Giroud has warned he will not tolerate another season sitting on the Arsenal bench.
Speaking before France’s World Cup Qualifier against Sweden, the striker said: „I will put up with the transfer market. I will discuss with the coach but he is relying on me.
„It is true that I have had limited playing time but it was for a certain amount of time, it is true there were things against me. I will not settle for another year with such little playing time.
„I have will have to think carefully to consider it with my relatives and my advisers. It will be a decision that will be maturely thought about to have more playing time.“
Hector Bellerin has also been speaking about a potential move to Barcelona as links between the Arsenal full-back and his hometown club continue to attract attention.
„It’s a great thing to know about the interest of a club like Barca, the club where I grew up,“ he said in quotes carried by the Daily Star. „I don’t know anything at the moment. I’m an Arsenal player and we’ll see what happens.
„It’s always been very good in London, my family settled there with me, although now, for family reasons, they have had to return to Barcelona. I have a tougher time now because I’m a family person, I depend on them a lot, and it’ll be a new challenge to be without them.
„As a player, the club haven’t told me anything, there has still not been any contact. A lot can happen this summer.“
