Wednesday’s Liverpool transfer rumours: Ruben Neves, Andre Wisdom and Ben Gibson
All the latest Liverpool transfer news and rumours from across the British and European press on Wednesday, June 14.
Porto midfielder Ruben Neves is a target for both Liverpool and Chelsea, according to media reports in Portugal, with a fee of around £30m thought to be the asking price.
The Anfield club are believed to have made contact with Porto over the availability of the Portuguese international in recent months and A Bola expect the 20-year-old to move to the Premier League this summer.
Neves became the youngest captain in Champions League history when he wore the skippers’ armband at the age of 18 years and seven months in a game against Maccabi Tel Aviv in October 2015.
Sky sources understand Derby have agreed to sign Andre Wisdom from Liverpool in a deal which could rise to £4.5m.
It is believed the Championship side will pay more than £2m up front for the 24-year-old, who spent last season on loan to Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg.
Wisdom is keen on a return to Pride Park, where he spent 2013/14 on loan, and it is believed Gary Rowett is a key factor in making the move happen.
Garry Monk wants to keep Ben Gibson at Middlesbrough, despite reported interest in the England squad member from Liverpool in The Mirror.
Monk said: „Ben is obviously a big focal point the team. I’ve watched him over the last couple of seasons, and I’m well aware of him and what he can bring to the team.
„It’s important you keep your best players and important you’re able to keep a core together and give yourself the best possible opportunity of reaching the club’s ambition, which is to go back to the Premier League. Ben is a big part of that.“
